Bulgaria may leave the EU and came to the area of influence of Russia, unless the government does not lead a serious fight crime and corruption, says the report of the International Advisory Board.

The report is commissioned by the government before the parliamentary elections on July 5. Bulgaria is a traditional rift between the influence of Moscow and the Western Europe. It maintains strong relations with Russia, particularly in the energy sector, says the document.

Difficulties between the EU and Bulgaria and Romania will be outlined in a report expected on Wednesday the European Commission. The two countries are the only EU member states for which the reports aimed at them an inducement to continue with reforms.

International Advisory Council was created in November last year. It is chaired by former French Prime Minister Dominique de Vilpen. It also involved a former minister, former European Commissioner, Member of the European Court of Auditors, president and legal counsel. The aim of the Council is to assist Bulgaria in the use of the opportunities afforded by EU membership and the implementation of European best practices.
