Construction activity slumps 67% in H1 2009

A drastic decrease in construction was registered in the first half of 2009, minister of regional development and public works Rossen Plevneliev said. Construction slumped 67.4%, year on year. Companies’ revenues fell 15.3%. Foreign investment in the sector dropped from EUR 1.2 billion last year to EUR 366 million in 2009. The data were presented by the Bulgarian Construction Chamber.
