EU allocates financial aid to workers made redundant from a Nokia plant in Bochum

European Commission (EC) has approved the request of Germany to grant funding to support the workers who remained unemployed after Nokia moved its plant from Bochum to Romania. The money will be distributed among 1316 workers who were worst affected by the relocation of the company. Support will be in order to enable people to quickly find a new job. The approximate cost of monetary aid amounting to € 11.1 million and the European globalizatsionen Fund will provide € 5.5 million of them. Aid workers made redundant will receive will include additional training courses, participation in groups for solving problems and helping people after starting a new job.
