French Trade Deficit Widens

A steep drop in exports drove France’s trade deficit in May to its highest in just over a year and a half.
It widened to 5.5 billion euros from 4.26 billion in April.
That casts a shadow over second-quarter growth in the euro zone’s second-largest economy.
However analysts said the decline came from reduced exports of notoriously volatile products like aircraft and petrol.
