General Motors no longer wants to sell the Opel?

American automobile giant General Motors no longer wants to sell its European subsidiary Opel, ITAR-TASS, citing the publication in Germany online edition of the newspaper Der Spiegel.
The decision on sales of Opel in Canadian-Austrian company Magna in partnership with the Russian Sberbank will be discussed at a meeting on November 3 of the board of General Motors.
More and more members of the management company, however, were against such a sale, says Spiegel.
This opposition is formed after Berlin has recently promised to provide credit guarantees worth of 4,5 billion euros (6.6 billion dollars) for the salvation of the bankruptcy of Opel, regardless of who will be its new owner.
This drives more and more members of the leadership of General Motors to seek to retain the subsidiary company and to use their own funds promised by Germany to rescue Opel, notes Der Spiegel.
