Half of building firms in Pleven cook staff reduction

Reduction of staff in the company over the next three months provide half of the developers in the Pleven region, according to a study of the territorial office of the National Statistical Institute.
During normal working hours the production schedule of the observed statistics from 58 construction companies in the region is secured by contracts for about two months ahead.
Difficulties in construction related to the uncertain economic environment, according to 82 per cent of entrepreneurs.
A year ago, the biggest problem for them was strong competition, but by December last year negatives of global crisis and inadequate demand are the most serious obstacle to the development of their business, say the leaders of companies.
At mid-year in increased activity of about one tenth of construction enterprises, resulting in some of the managers expressed optimistic projections for the future.
Construction ranked third in importance to the economy of Pleven, after trade and manufacturing. The industry accounts for nearly 7 percent of the total six-month period for implementation in the field by making sales to nearly 51 million leva, BTA reported.
