Postbank Director Grabs Bulgaria’s ‘Banker of the Year’ Prize

Assen Yagodin, the Executive Director of Postbank, has won the 2010 Banker of the Year prize of Bulgarian financial newspaper „Banker“.Yagodin received his award at a special ceremony Wednesday night as the Banker weekly organized the „Banker of the Year“ awards for 16th year in a row.
„I have been working in the banking sector for 18 years, and have dedicated all that time to one single institution, Postbank. I thank our entire team of 3000 people and our senior management. 2010 was a hard but successful year for the banking sector, which stood up against the hits of the crisis remaining stable and secure,“ Yagodin stated upon receiving his award.
Postbank, legally named Eurobank EFG Bulgaria AD, is a member of Eurobank EFG Group, an European banking group present in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, UK, Luxembourg, and Cyprus.
In 2010 so far, Postbank was picked as „Bank of the Year“ by the Association; it was also declared „Most Dynamically Developing Bank“ by Bulgaria’s „Annual Banking Awards“ organized by the Pari Daily.
At the beginning of the year Assen Yagodin was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. Since 2008 he has been the deputy chair of the Association of Banks in Bulgaria. He has been one of the Executive Directors of Postbank since 2004. He has degrees in finance and business administration from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia and the American University in Bulgaria.
