Ukraine requested emergency assistance from $ 2 billion from IMF

Ukraine has requested emergency assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) amounting to $ 2 billion to tackle the „extremely difficult financial situation, officials said, AFP reported.
„The money will be half of the next tranche of $ 16.4 billion to Ukraine agreed last year,“ said Natalia Lisovo, a spokesman for Deputy Prime Minister Grigory naughty. Lisovo described the current financial position of Ukraine as „extremely difficult“, without giving further details.
Without this credit the Ukrainian government will have difficulties paying state salaries, pensions and monthly payments to Russia for gas supplies. Concerns about the stability of the Ukrainian economy had worsened in recent weeks as the financial problems of Dubai and Greece have threatened global markets.
