Volkswagen surprising expansion plans in North America

The German automobile concern Volkswagen (Volkswagen) has invested over one billion dollars in the expansion of capacity in the Mexican city of Puebla. Next year there will begin production of a new model for the U.S. market, Deutsche Welle reported.

Even last year, Volkswagen announced it would invest 700 million dollars in its manufacturing base in the Mexican city of Puebla. Now the German group raised the bar for a further 400 million dollars.
With the investment will be expanded plants kaeto next year will begin production of new model. This is quite surprising in light of poor news from the Volkswagen-Mexico lately: talking to a temporary suspension of production for a short time working for poor market performance.
Volkswagen factory in Puebla is currently the only production capacity of the German group in North America. They produce models „New Beatle“, „Bora“ and „Jetta“. Since mid-2010 of the new line will come down „Sedan“ – the Spanish word for a sedan.
Currently chief of the Mexican division of Volkswagen does not want to give anything about the new project. He only commented that this vehicle will find market in the world. „This will be a compact sedan designed primarily for American padzar. But we are happy and each sale in Europe, Japan or China,“ he added.
The investment will allow the detection of 2 000 new jobs, save existing 15 thousand, which Mexican President Felipe Calderon welcomed with enthusiasm.
Volkswagen is the only company in the world avtoindustriyata which remains extremely stable against the backdrop of the crisis, even managed to expand its market share worldwide.
