Around 585 million were utilized Program PHARE

Nearly 585 million have been utilized to date tools for successful projects under the PHARE program for Bulgaria, announced by the Ministry of Finance Press. Continued implementation of the PHARE and Transition Facility (MFIs), with a total budget about 200 million at May 31, 2009 This report shows data of the implementation of the PHARE program and the MFIs, presented yesterday at the Ministry of Finance during the XIV meeting of the Joint Committee to monitor implementation of the PHARE program and the MFIs.
The Joint Monitoring Committee is the supreme body responsible for monitoring the implementation of PHARE and MFIs in terms of achieving their objectives in the fields of justice and home affairs, reform public administration, finance and strengthening institutions responsible for managing funds EU and economic and social cohesion, regional road infrastructure, harmonization of EU legislation in the field of agriculture and the environment, strengthening cross-border cooperation measures in the field of nuclear safety.
In the meeting attended by representatives of the team for Bulgaria in DG Enlargement of the European Commission (EC), led by the Head of Department responsible for financial execution of programs Jaime Garcia Lombardero.
Discussed were the results of monitoring and evaluation of programs, application procedures for the registration, reporting and monitoring irregularities in the implementation of individual projects.
Representatives of the European Commission noted that the management and control in the implementation of projects financed by the PHARE program, there is a positive development.
During the meeting discussed possibilities for improving the system for monitoring and control mechanisms with a view to completion of the PHARE program for Bulgaria at the end of this year.
