Audi to Expand Hungary Plant

German carmaker Audi is to invest 900 million euros to expand its Hungarian manufacturing plant.
It will make 125,000 vehicles a year once production starts in the new factory in 2013 and 1,800 new jobs will be created.
Audi will manufacture the TT coupe and the TT Roadster there, as well as the A3 Cabriolet and a version of the A3 model at the plant in Gyor, in the northwest of Hungary.
The Audi announcement follows word earlier in the week from General Motors of a 490 million euro investment to expand its Opel production facility in Hungary.
