Began collecting project proposals on cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Macedonia

The first call for project proposals on cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Macedonia under IPA will be announced on September 14, 2009
The program will be financed projects aimed at promoting sustainable economic development in the border area, promoting social cohesion and cross-border cooperation, development of the region’s attractiveness and quality of life.
The total program budget for the period 2007 – 2009 was 7.8 million, the first call for proposals provided 4.1 million. Allocations for individual projects will be between 10 000 and EUR 300 000.
As it may apply for local, regional or national authorities, national and regional agencies, the administration of natural parks, hospitals, cultural institutions, community centers / libraries, regional employment agencies, governmental or non-profit organizations, educational institutions, etc. Euroregions.
Mandatory requirement for each project is to have at least one partner from each side of the border region, a lead partner should be registered in the eligible border region between Bulgaria and Macedonia at least 12 months before submission of project proposals.
Elective area of the Bulgarian side covers all the municipalities of Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil – Bansko Belitsa Blagoevgrad, Gotse Delchev, Garmen, Kresna, Petrich, Razlog, Sandanski, Satovcha Simitli Strumyani, Hadjidimovo, Yakoruda Bobovdol, Boboshevo, Dupnitsa Kocherinovo , Kyustendil, Nevestino Rila Sapareva Treklyano and bathroom. Macedonian side of this Region North, South and East, including municipalities Kratovo, Kriva Palanka, Rankovtse, Kumanovo, Lipkovo, Staro Nagoričane, Valandovo, Gevgelija, Bogdantsi, Doiran, Radovitch, Horsey, Strumica, Bosilovo, Vasilev, Novo Selo, Berovo , Pehchevo, Vinnitsa, Zrnovci, Kocani, Češinovo – Obleshevo, Probistip, Stip, Karbinci, Delchevo and Makedonska Kamenica.
