The index of producer prices on the domestic market in July 2009 is 0.9 percent below the previous month. Price increases are in the mining industry – by 1.2% in manufacturing – by 2.2%, a decrease was registered in production and distribution of electricity and heat and gas – by 7.6%. In the manufacturing price increases occurred in the manufacture of chemical products – by 1.4% in printing and reproduction of recorded media – by 0.8%, while significant decreases in prices reported in the production of timber and wood products, without furniture – by 2.9%. In the mining industry has a price increase over the previous month in extraction of metal ores – by 4.1%, while coal prices fell by 2.1%, it is clear from data published today by the National Statistical Institute.
The index of producer prices on the domestic market in July 2009 decreased by 9.0 percent compared with same month of 2008. In the mining industry prices fell by 14.5%, a in the manufacturing industry – by 12.4% and in the production and distribution of electricity and heat and gas – by 0.4%.
Price reduction in manufacturing compared to July 2008 is in: manufacture of basic metals – by 32.1%, production of timber and wood products, except furniture – by 6.3%, production of food products – by 6.0%. Price increases occurred in: the manufacture of beverages – by 6.7%, production of products from other non-metallic mineral products – by 6.2% for textiles and textile products without clothes – by 5.7%.
2. General index of producer prices in industry
The overall index of producer prices in July 2009 is 1.0 percent below the previous month. Price increase was registered in manufacturing and mining and quarrying – by 0.9% and in the production and distribution of electricity and gas heat and a decrease by 7.6%.
In the mining industry in a substantial increase in prices compared to June 2009 was observed in extraction of metal ores – by 2.6%. In the manufacturing industry registered a decrease in the production of timber and wood products, except furniture – by 2.0% and an increase in the production of chemical products – by 3.5%.
The overall index of producer prices in July 2009 decreased by 10.6% compared with same month of 2008. In the mining industry in July, prices fell by 19.2 percent over the corresponding month of 2008, in manufacturing – by 12.2 percent, while production and distribution of electricity and heat and gas – 3.2%.
In the manufacturing industry in a significant decrease in the production of basic metals – by 25.8% and in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – by 13.0 percent, while price increases were observed in the case of vehicles without cars – by 12.4% and processing of hides; manufacture of articles of leather – with 12.3 percent.
