Carrefour Confirms Lower Profit

French supermarket group Carrefour has confirmed its operating profit this year will be down by 18 percent.
The world’s second-biggest retailer also said that there are no signs of a pickup and so the market will remain challenging in the second half of the year.
First-half operating profit fell 28 percent to 1.1 billion euros and is expected to be about 2.8 billion for the whole year.
