Daimler reported a loss of 1 mlrd.evro for second quarter

German company Daimler ended second quarter with losses due to decreased demand for luxury cars and trucks on the background of economic decline, says „Wall Street Dzharnal. Daimler net loss in April-June amounted to 1.06 billion euros compared with net profit amounting to 1.4 billion euros received for the same period of 2008
Company revenue in the second quarter fell by 25 percent to 19.6 billion euros from 26 billion euros. Operating loss of units producing cars Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach in April-June reached 340 million euros compared with profit of 1.21 billion euros for the same period year earlier. Division producing cargo truck is registered operating losses of 508 million euros due to contraction of demand against the backdrop of poor economic situation.
