European dairy farmers prepare unlimited strike

European dairy farmers urged their colleagues from across Europe announce unlimited „milk strike, which will lead to a suspension of milk deliveries to dairy plants, said the newspaper Le Figaro.

Call for general strike was made yesterday in the cavalcade of milk from France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands and Luxembourg, which produce 70 percent of dairy production in Europe.

Employed in the European dairy industry wants a temporary increase in prices of European intervention in dairy markets and increase subsidies for exporters of oil, cheese and milk powder.
From industry say that unless they be given European support, the smaller, mostly family producers would disappear from Europe’s agricultural landscape.
