French Consumer Spending Jumps in June
The French went on a shopping spree in June and the country enjoyed the largest rise in consumer spending since January.
Sales of manufactured goods rose 1.4 percent month-on-month. In May they had fallen 0.2 percent.
Analysts said that was a sign the euro zone’s second largest economy may be moving closer to recovery.
Consumption accounts for over half of France’s gross domestic product.
