Germany banks against aid to Greece

The president of Germany’s federation of private banks Manfred Weber rejected any possibility of Community financial assistance to Greece, saying that Athens is working to tackle its serious budget deficit. So far the Greeks were in the dock. They need a way to explain credibly how you deal with the deficit, Weber argues in an interview today for the Berliner Zeitung.
Greece itself is placed in this difficult situation because of its loose fiscal policy, stressed Germany’s banker. Only after Athens responsibility may consider some measures of support, he added. President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Jean-Claude Trichet said yesterday he believed that the Greek government will take „bold and decisive measures“ as are necessary to resolve the budget crisis.
Prime Minister of Greece George Papandreou exclude recourse to loans from the International Monetary Fund, arguing that there is no imminent danger of bankruptcy of the country.
