Ministry stopped 60 construction project

Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (Works) assessed 60 projects and temporarily halted construction work on them. They are in the water and sanitation activities and amenities. The reason is that their total value exceeds the budget provided by government funding – announced by the Works. Of these 60 projects 42 are in water and sanitation sector to be implemented within the 32 municipalities and 18 in the field of development activities carried out in 11 municipalities. Among them are Sliven Blagoevgrad, Kardjali, Shabla, Vidin and others.

Suspension of work on the sites is made in connection with the instructions of the Ministry of Finance to reduce government expenditure. Currently in the Works carried out an analysis of the immediate need for people from the projects and their feasibility. They will be divided into categories according to whether their detention could lead to risk to life or health of the people that contribute to significantly improving the living environment in urban areas or those not directly improve the quality of living environment for them not secured financing.

The suspension of construction work has aimed to prevent the accumulation of costs by the contractors to carry out activities that the state can not repaying, and ending companies to operate without having a clear idea when they will be paid due amounts. The analysis will show the winner, in which can be a maximum number of projects financed with available funds. Priority will be financed projects, the stop could endanger the life or health and / or which have proven effective.

The suspension of construction activities will be documented with a signature model 10 for establishing the status of the work in stopping the construction, as required by Ordinance № 3 of 31 July 2003. to draw up regulations and protocols during construction. Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works will inform all municipalities and contractors affected by the suspension of projects.
