No effect of social measures in BG

Bulgaria leads in European rating level of poverty, shows European Commission report on the impact of measures on social standard of living. In our country it is weakest in the entire EU.

22 percent of Bulgarians live below the poverty threshold at 17 percent EU average. More serious is the situation only in neighboring Romania. There are a minimum 25% of the people.
At least the poor have in the CR – 10%. Some old members, however, reported levels that are close to the situation in the country. In Spain and Italy, for example below the poverty line live 20% of the population in the United Kingdom – 19%.
The effect of social transfers, which do not include pensions, the country is minimal.
They are reduced by only 15% risk of poverty, while countries such as Sweden, Hungary and Denmark the figures are far more optimistic. There are social measures have reduced this risk by 60%.
Commission assesses the risk of poverty based on what proportion of people unable to pay rent or mortgage bills for electricity and heating. It is important and what part they can not afford a new TV or fridge, eat a full or to go on vacation.
The most common reason for poverty is unemployment in the union. Strongly affected by it are people with low skills, lone parents and immigrants.
