The new information system of the NVS ready by the end of October

The new information system at the National Veterinary Service (NVS) will be ready by the end of October, it became clear the meeting between the Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov and veterinarians from the Bulgarian Veterinary Union, which was held today, announced the NVS.

The new system will allow full synchronization of information between Animal Veterinary Service and State Agriculture Fund and the registration of all horses and dogs in the country.
Naydenov minister said he would work for decent pay for veterinary services in Bulgaria and to provide funds to pay for the implementation activities of state preventive program.
During the meeting it became clear that funds for activities under the annual framework contract for 2009, concluded between the MAF and the Bulgarian Veterinary Union in December last year were not from the state budget. Pending with particular veterinarians are paid a total of BGN 7 724 008, as the funds are entirely from the budget of the NVS.
According to the signed contract, they must be granted by the ministry targeted to the budget of the NVS, the Office has paid the vets activities undertaken on the basis of statements.
The Minister was clear that the funds to pay for activities this year will be budgeted. Year framework contract is concluded for the implementation of measures to control programs and eradication of diseases in animals, preventive program, marking of livestock and the maintenance of animal identification system.
Meeting were presented and data breaches in the work of doctors with particular implementation of preventive measures under the State program, which upon inspection were found in areas of Rousse and Pleven. The inspection was ordered by the Director of Veterinary Service Dr. Jordan Voinov. The areas were chosen at random.
Committees formed specifically examined a total of 19 veterinary section of the territories of both areas. Most drastic violations are associated with poor outpatient keeping diaries. Reviewed are not entered and treated animals, which is difficult to track their health status. There are cases in which outpatient records are not reflected medical research, but are recorded only veterinary certificates issued. In some areas in the minutes reflected a greater number of vaccines actually used, in others not taken blood samples from ruminants. In places it was found that the data for animals are not introduced into the information system of the NVS.
Unauthorized expenditure of ear tags was found in pig breeding farm in the territory of Rousse region, which resulted in injury to the budget of the NVS, with at least 7 500 leva for the extra costs of marking the animals.
Director General of Veterinary Service Dr. Voinov Jordan said he will order additional inspections as the work of veterinarians, with particular, as the work of the regional veterinary services in areas where violations are found.
At a meeting was once again emphasized the need for cooperation with particular veterinarians, veterinarians in the structure of the National Veterinary and animal owners to achieve a high degree of control and quality of work.
