Turkmenistan-Iran gas pipeline will be open by the end of the 2009th

Turkmenistanski construction of a new gas pipeline to Iran will end in November or December this year, said State Minister and Chairman of the State concern „Turkmengaz“ Baymirat Hodzhamuhamedov cited by France Press.
„The intense pace of construction this project will be ready to November – December,“ said Hodzhamuhamedov on national television.
The new pipeline will transport natural gas from the deposit Dovletabat, SE Turkmenistan. So far from this gas field to supply only to Russia, AFP notes.
Last month Turkmenistan – Central country rich in gas resources – announced it would increase gas supplies to Iran of 8 billion cubic meters at present to 14 billion cubic meters annually.
Iran has the second volume of gas reserves in the world, but currently imports from Turkmenistan gas off so as to export to Turkey.
