Bulgarian projects could cost Russia billions of losses

Russia as nothing may be billions of dollars lost due to too heroic speeches of new English officials, who took seats in the new ministries and Parliament.

Sofia would revise or completely freeze the implementation of large joint energy projects with Russia – the construction of the pipeline „Southern stream“, Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline and the Belene NPP.
If threat be fulfilled, it will seriously affect Russia’s strategic plans to reduce dependence on transit Ukraine and Belarus on the export of energy raw materials and to obtain direct access to the European energy market. Yesterday a representative of Atomstroyexport refused to answer a question of „Nezavisimaya gazelle for penalties that could be taken against Bulgaria if the country’s frozen or waive construction of Belene NPP, the publication noted.
Russian authorities now also an official comment on the possible refusal of Sofia from the implementation of energy projects that are important not only for Russia and Bulgaria and throughout Europe. Greece also expressed concern after a series of speeches in Bulgarian officials on the need for a review of strategic energy projects.
To prevent consternation of important projects to Russia, Moscow will be forced to make serious concessions and additional costs, which amount is not yet known and will depend on the degree of stubbornness of Sofia, Russian experts note.
