UK Economy Contracts for Sixth Quarter
The UK economy has shrunk for the sixth quarter in a row. However, the pace at which it has slowed has not been as bad as expected.
The Office for National Statistics say that while GDP has fallen by 0.3 per cent, it is less than the 0.4 per cent they had predicted.
The sixth successive contraction is the longest unbroken stretch since records began in 1955.
