Competition Protection Commission began investigating the producers of cement

Commission for Protection of Competition (the Competition Protection Commission) up proceedings and investigation of possible violations made in Article 15, paragraph 1 of the Law on Protection of Competition (ZZK) by the Bulgarian Association of the cement industry (germ), resulting in prohibited agreements, decisions and (or) concerted practices which have as their object or effect the prevention, restriction or distortion of competition in the cement, reported by the committee.
As a first step in the investigation, according to its powers under the law, the Competition Protection Commission made a June 23 inspection of the office of the germs. The purpose of verification is evidence that a direct or indirect relevance to proof of any violation.
Action on inspection were made by officials of the Competition Protection Commission with the assistance of representatives of the Ministry after received judicial authorization of an Administrative Court in Sofia.
Upon inspection were seized copies of paper documents, and documents were seized and stored on electronic media and other digital information.
Evidence will be studied by experts of the Competition Protection Commission, together with other documents in the file. If they have evidence of an infringement of ZZK, the defendant, by order of the Competition Protection Commission will be made in detail to the allegations of breach of Art. 15 ZZK then it has at least 30 days to prepare his defense, including through the use of the right to a hearing before the Competition Protection Commission.
In its final decision in this case the Competition Protection Commission may establish a violation and impose sanctions, and to establish the termination of the infringement specified by the committee.
