Czech Social Democrats have promised to increase expenditure on infrastructure and social projects

Czech Social Democratic Party announced it would combat the economic crisis by increasing expenditure on infrastructure and social projects after the parliamentary elections in October.

Congress of the election left his party prepared the ground for the clash with her rival on the right of center – Citizens’ Democratic Party, whose government Social Democrats down in March in the middle of the Czech EU rotating presidency.

In his election platform for the election on 9 and October 10 Social Democrats indicated that they will seek enactment of a financial package to boost the value of the matron of 1 to 1.5 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) of the country, whose objective will be detection of 100 000 new jobs.

The party said it would cover the larger costs by eliminating flat income tax and increasing the profits of public corporations, including energy company CHEZ.

According to a survey published at the end of June, the Social Democratic Party occupies second place in percentage of public support after the Civil Democratic Party. According to the survey support for both parties is 30 to 35 percent.
