Our foreign trade merchandise for 40.7 billion euro

Bulgaria’s foreign trade for January – September 2009 for an estimated EUR 40.7 billion euro at current prices. Compared with the previous year’s reduction is 33.1%.

Foreign trade balance (exports FOB – import CIF) was negative and amounted to 7,5 billion, which is over 6.6 billion euro less than the balance for the same period in 2008 due to lower exports and imports . Prices FOB / FOB (after the elimination of transport costs and insurance on imports) negative balance for the period January – September 2009 amounted to 6.3 billion leva.
The trend of recent years, a major trading partner of our country to the European Union. Over 62% of the flow of the country with the EU. Over 65% of goods exported to Bulgaria, are directed to the Community and imported goods are almost 60% of total imports.
The country’s foreign trade balance with the EU is negative, as imports exceeded exports by 3,6 billion euro.
The country’s trade exchange with third countries amounted to EUR 15.4 billion and decreased by 41% over the corresponding period a year earlier, as exports decreased by 39.3% and imports by 42.1 percent.
Major trading partners are Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and China, who form 53 percent of trade with third countries.
Exports to Ukraine and Turkey declined by 50 percent, while Russia and China have fallen by around 40%. Imports from these countries is also lower. The decrease in imports from Ukraine by e 61.8%, and Russia with over 42%. Against the backdrop of other countries the reduction of imports from China and Turkey is about 1 / 3. As a general foreign trade balance (exports FOB imports CIF) in Bulgaria with third countries was negative and amounted to 3,9 billion euro.
Bulgaria’s exports to third countries, divided according to Standard International Trade Classification shows that during the first nine months of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008 saw a reduction in all commodity groups. The largest decline was in exports of „Mineral fuels, lubricants and related products,“ Food and live animals ‘and’ Raw (raw) materials, inedible (excl. fuel).
