Swingeing theft of 172 000 leva from the two tax officials revealed NRA Sofia

Unprecedented theft of 172 000 leva examination revealed the Territorial Directorate of NRA in Sofia. Two department officials „checks“ in the capital Act NRA have made a return of 172 000 BGN VAT company to which the tax should be reinstated. One of the two officers, however, was replaced last page of the document as it is entered instead of the company’s bank account, that of his own son.
The theft was revealed two days later, when checked by Sofia NRA found that the holder of the account in which money is transferred from a different company, which had to recover the VAT. Thanks to the actions of inspectors from the NRA Sofia amount is recovered and is not caused damage to the budget or the company, which amount should have been returned.
Last night, the director of Sofia NRA has sent notification of the case to the prosecution, and now Executive Director of NRA Krassimir Stefanov fired two employees.
We recall that in the last 6 months five of the capital NRA officials were sacked for corruption. As a result of internal investigations and reports are now running checks on dozens of inspectors from the NRA Sofia.
„That officers fired immediately. Already surrendered to the prosecutors all the evidence we have gathered and are hoping for a quick verdict. Repeatedly, the Executive Director of NRA and the leadership of the Metropolitan Directorate are attentive to the inspectors in Sofia to strictly observe the law, internal procedures and the Code of Ethics. However, we see such unprecedented insolence. Because of the revelations of corruption within a month all the teams in conducting inspections and audits in Sofia will introduce mandatory rotation, including their leaders. In this way corruption will be limited connection between employees and businesses of the NRA, said on the occasion of dismissals Krasimir Stefanov.
