China – № 1 exporter in the world for the first half of 2009

China is the world’s largest exporter in the first half of 2009 with the volume of external sales of 521.7 billion dollars, says the Financial Times newspaper.
The second volume of exports is the current leader Germany, which exported goods to 521.6 billion dollars.
According to experts from the World Trade Organization (WTO) is still too early to forecast whether China will manage to maintain its place at the end of the year. To a great extent the final results for 2009 will depend on changes in exchange rates over the next few months, analysts note.
Export volume of Germany is strongly reduced after the bankruptcy of U.S. bank Lehman Brothers in 2008 but is now reported an increase of the indicator, according to the latest data through June 2009 exports to Germany increased by 7 percent compared to May.
