With 8 percent decline in tourism revenue for the first five months

Revenue from tourism for the first five months of the year were 556.3 million, or 7.6 percent less than the same period last year, told a press conference today, Chairman of the State Agency for Tourism (DAT) Anelia Krushkova.
The decrease in the number of foreign tourists in Bulgaria at the end of May was 7.6 percent over the same period last year. The reduction of tourists from EU countries is 5.2 percent, said Krushkova, according to data from the NSI.
Increase in the number of tourists has guests in Romania – nearly 20 percent, the Czech Republic – 21%, Slovakia – 33 percent, Hungary – 35 percent and Poland – 30 per cent.
Tourists from Germany were 20 percent less than the UK – with 21 percent and Russia – by 7.3 per cent. The decrease in tourists from Serbia is 37 percent, while those of Macedonia – 4 percent.
Krushkova as in other countries of our region, tourism decline is between 20 and 50 per cent, ie „Bulgaria is in a better situation.“ Only Turkey has an increase in tourists, said she.
Requested by journalists how the hotel this season have been closed since the beginning of the crisis, and they replied that there are hotels that did not open.
